Lumberjack Days in Stillwater

We went to our first Lumberjack Days celebration as official Stillwater residents!  We went downtown on Saturday, saw the Wallflowers and enjoyed a beautiful night.  We went to the parade on Sunday and took in the lumberjack competition.  What a fun place to live!

We Are Registered!

We spent the last few days registering for gifts at Target and Macy's.  We had a lot of fun!  We registered for gifts we need.  We registered for gifts we want.  Basically, we registered for gifts that we would love to have!

1.  You can view our registry lists online at
  • www.target.com  (click on registries and gifts and then club wed and type in one of our names)
  • www.macys.com (click on wedding registries, type our names in under "give")
*If you order online, gifts can be shipped directly to us or to you.  Our address is 209 Maryknoll Drive, Stillwater, MN 55082

2. You can view our registry lists in the stores Target and  Macy's
  • Find a kiosk, type in our names, and print out our list.
*You will be able to view all that we have registered for.  The list will show if an item has been purchased both online and in the stores.

We are very thankful for our family and friends who are supporting us as we begin our new life together.  We feel blessed to have so many who love us.
Love,

Our Little Lake Home

We signed the papers and now we have our own little lake home!

209 Maryknoll became our home in May.
We have enjoyed unpacking and organizing our house. . .it is a huge process!

Here's an update on our new house. . .
  • The upstairs bathroom has been totally remodeled! Goodbye blue toilet, blue shower, blue tub, and blue sink! Hello spa!
  • The family room is painted and decorated! We've spent many evenings watching the Twins and eating popcorn in our favorite room!
  • The kitchen is completely unpacked and somewhat organized. . .we are excited to register for all of the kitchen gadgets we need. Noah has made most our meals on the grill.
  • Our bedroom is painted and our clothes are organized and put away. We have not done much decorating upstairs yet.
  • The downstairs bathroom is painted and looks great! We painted it blue. . .a beach (blue/tan) look.
  • Noah has completely organized the garage! He's hung shelves and put everything away. It looks amazing! He is loving all of his new tools!
  • Outside the lawn is looking much better. No one had touched it for two years, so we've been busy raking, mowing, raking, weeding, etc. It's starting to look nice. My new interest is gardening, it's made our little place look happy.
  • We spend a lot of time on the deck. We eat out there, read the newspaper, do homework, drink beer and love to look at the lake. We have the most peaceful, relaxing backyard!

Once Upon A Time. . .

We're creating this blog to keep our friends and family up-to-date with our lives.

Our wedding will be on October 17th, 2009.  We are getting married at St. Mary of Lake church in White Bear Lake.  The reception is at the Grand Banquet Hall in Stillwater.

We have blocked off rooms at the AmericInn in Stillwater.   You can make your hotel reservation by calling 888.205.3488 or 651.275.0908.  Be sure to ask for the Otto/Schumacher wedding rate.

So here's our story. . .

Once upon a time a girl emailed a boy about going out on a date (with much support by her stepmom who stated, "he'd be the perfect son-in-law.")  Two weeks later, the boy replied to her email (really, it was two weeks).  The boy and girl continued to email back and forth for two more weeks.  Finally the boy asked the girl to go on a date and they did.  Their first date was at Sweeney's.  That summer they went to see an Amos Lee concert, a few Saints games, a few Twins games, and frequented the St. Clair Broiler.  They continued to date for two years and finally the boy popped the question.  That night the boy and girl ate dinner at Paza Luna, went to see Rent at the Ordway, sat in Rice Park by the fountain, and ate cheesecake at Cafe Latte.  It was perfect.  The next year was spent planning the wedding and buying a house.  And that boy and girl moved into their first home in Stillwater this May.  And the best is yet to come! . . .
